For real. But tonight all my stuff should be from point A to point B. Yay!
And then I'm going to sleep for three straight days before getting rid of half my clothes, because WOW do I ever have a lot.
Anyway, I don't think the writer's strike helped television much. I am just not feeling the tv shows anymore. For example, I lost interest in Ugly Betty, Bones had the worst twist ever (which I actually predicted based on one rumor I read that a certain actor was leaving the show), and I just couldn't get excited about Meredith and Derek being together. This means come next year, I'll have more time to read! Ha. Also, I'm worried about LOST. I'm hoping that it won't disappoint. At least David Cook won American Idol.
It rained here yesterday and we had tornadoes!! Isn't that weird????? It's 50 degrees outside and last weekend it was 103. This is the kind of stuff that makes you think....global warming.
And finally, I just finished a really great and heartwarming debut novel by Sherri Sand called Leave it to Chance. If you head over to The Friendly Book Nook you can see how you can win a copy of the book and a five dollar gift card to Starbucks.
I have a lot of blog posts in development, I really do, that are hopefully about a thousand times better than this one. Once my life is back to normal, i.e. internet is up and running and I've tossed half my clothes from the window, I'll be back for discussion!
Have a great weekend everyone! What are your plans?

That's the best blog post title yet, don't you think?
Anyway, the winner of Healing Promises is Christel! Congrats! Just as soon as I unearth the giveaway copy from a box I'll get it in the mail to you! The next few days might be kind of quiet around here (If I can pry myself away from blogging)...I am beyond busy. I don't even think I'll have time to watch American Idol tonight, sob! But I would like to thank you, the readers, for showing overwhelming support for David Cook. :)
Have a great week everyone!

American Idol Finale!
Lots of people, lots of excitement, and Ryan feels it necessary to call them Big David and Little David.
Wait! I think they just showed Daughtry like he was a winner or something! These people are crazy!
This little intro video is beyond cheesy! Ha! Love it! (I have a feeling it's going to be an exclamation point night. The Davids are sharing their love. The Nokia is not quite as cool as the Kodak, huh?
First Songs are chosen by Clive Davis:
David Cook is singing a U2 song! I think this is the first time ever on Idol for a U2 song, besides Idol gives back last year.
COOK: "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" Not a bad performance, but admittedly, it's a bit tough to tackle a U2 song. (though churches seem to do it all the time.) Paula is so cheesy. Well the judges liked it better than me! Don't get me wrong, I love David!
ARCHULETA: "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on You" This is a perfect song choice for him. It really fits his style. That was fantastic. Um, I may not have loved it as much as the judges, but I do think it was a great performance.
Simon's annoying round call goes to Archuleta.
Oh goody! The songwriting competition songs!
COOK: Actually, this isn't as bad as some past coronation songs! Probably because Cookie is able to put his own sound to it. Not bad. Simon says some not nice things .
Wa-hoo!!! The preview for Fringe!!!
ARCHULETA: Undoubtedly these songs will be more sorted to Archie. Yep, I was right. Still kinda lame, though. Sorry songwriter.
I disagree on Simon's call, I preferred Cookie this round.
COOK: LOVE. THIS. SONG. This is David Cook, you know, this is who he is. Maybe it's not a soaring ballad, but it's a great song. And I'll buy his CD. And if he doesn't win, he still better be a great star. He's overcome by emotion. We love you David. I do see what Simon's saying.
ARCHULETA: He's resurrecting his famous song. It was good. But I would have loved to hear something new. :)
I think Archuleta will win. He has the really important tweener vote. The people who can send 14,000 text messages. But I love David Cook, and he's already won in my heart. (wasn't that cheesy?)
So I love David Cook. But I predict Archuleta for the win.
So who's your favorite Idol of all time?

Battle of the Davids, LOST tonight
So it's going to be a battle of the Davids as was predicted somewhere around the top ten! Go David Cook, we love you!
In other news, I (a relatively new LOST fan) found the major spoiler site. And I'm conflicted. So, yes, you now know my full geekery in that I read forums for television shows from time to time...especially those that tend to have plot twists and kill people off because I like to know what the other fans are thinking. (I haven't been on one in awhile, but I thought I'd check out LOST's and they've really changed Television Without Pity! It's huge now!)
I also know the major 24 spoiler site and used to read it and get spoiled. Not always, though. Like, can you imagine how much less fun it would have been in S5 if I had known Logan was behind it all.
It's called being American and having no sense of delayed gratification.
So, I haven't read the spoilers but I'm getting darned worried that Sayid is in that coffin. I will not be happy if Sayid or Desmond is in the coffin. Let me say it again. I. WILL. NOT. BE. HAPPY. (truthfully, my time is probably up, though. the only character that's been killed off that I was really attached to was Mr. Eko and maybe Charlie but we had a lot of time to prepare for that one)
If I keep reading that site I can probably find out. This is going to be a huge exercise in patience for me. Because the moment I know...I will want to unknow. Do you get what I'm saying?
Who do you think is in the coffin? Do you read spoilers for shows? Which David are your rooting for?

American Idol Top 3
Tonight should be great fun as we'll get to hear David Cook three times!
Wow the audience sounds a little rabid tonight! Yikes!
It appears Syesha is sticking with the grown-up look.
David Archuleta: Paula's choice. "And So It Goes" Nice pretty ballady song that is sort of putting me to sleep. He sounds good, though. Why couldn't Paula have picked a peppier tune? Strange way to start. Randy gushes all over him. Paula gushes as well. Simon is unimpressed.
Syesha Mercado:
Ryan is acting like Randy and the judges are jumping in to read the teleprompter. Randy chooses a modern song for Syesha. Gasp. She sounds good. Fun and good performance. Simon sorta disses Randy's choice. But he tells her she looks gorgeous. Aw that's nice.
David Cook: David's back home in the lovely Missouri. Simon chooses something a bit unusual for David in a Roberta Flack song. I don't think I know this song. Or maybe I'm not super familiar with it. It might surprise you, but I really like it! The judges do crack me up. :) This little rivalry between Randy and Simon is actually quite funny tonight.
Oh by the way CBS is taking the delicious Alex O'Laughlin off the air. Why, I ask, why?
David A: "With You" by Chris Brown He's trying something new. Poor David always comes across as a bit awkward, poor thing. Yeah, this is just alright. Not exactly his style really, is it? Simon's assessment "a chihuahua trying to be a tiger" is dead on. I wish I'd thought of that line.
Syesha: "Fever" Syesha chose this song so she could use the chair. An ok performance, pretty good really. But nothing that's going to stand out tremendously.
David Cook: Singing some Switchfoot a song I really like. Wow, I would have thought David Cook singing a favorite song would be bliss but instead he's sounding a bit rough. Paula's assessment is right on...the song ended a bit abruptly.
David A.: This song is nice and he sings well, but it lacks the excitement factor.
Syesha: Syesha does a fun little song from Happy Feet. Nothing outstanding, but it was fun and I still think she might have a chance for next week. But don't vote for her, vote for David Cook!
David Cook: David Cook singing "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" So far, it's ok....pretty good, he did do a bit of a different take which is nice. Simon says he wins the night. He better win the whole thing.
Well I love David and will vote for him now. Who would you like to see in the finale?
I'll be back Thursday to talk LOST with you all. Pray for Myanmar!

Live Blogging Idol Top 5 Neil Diamond
I'm pretty sure this is going to be one of those nights where I don't think I know the songs, and then I recognize them. Ok, uh, was that slightly idiotic waving hi to Carly? Off to a booming start!
Wow look at Syesha! She looks fab! Man, I just spaced out during the Neil Diamond intro. I just have a lot on my mind these days...he's telling them to be joyful. That's good!
Jason: He's chosen two different songs. I immediately realize that I recognize the songs. Ha. Told ya.
I can't hear! Must be my fan. Excuse me, I'm gonna grab my remote. "Forever in Blue Jeans" Nice song, typical Jason fare, I do believe. Are we skipping the judges? Oh interesting. Do they normally sing two songs at the top five stage?
David Cook: In the danger spot tonight! He gets some info from Ryan for us. Neil got goosebumps. Yipee! Who knows this song? Actually, I think I do. How is that possible? Maybe it sounds like another song. Well, it was good! I liked it!
Brooke: She's gonna play the instruments. "I'm a Believer" I know this song. (wow, is this commentary exciting tonight or what?) Is she a bit too low? This doesn't sound great nor is it all that exciting.
Davie A.: Neil calls David a prodigy. "Sweet Caroline" This performance is fine. Pretty good.
Syesha: "Hello Again" Very pretty and nice. Good performance, love the hair.
Not sure I really like this format. Uh, Paula is clairvoyant!!!!! Apparently, she made her decisions based on the dress rehearsal and would like to see Jason go? Sorry, Simon, but I think these songs aren't giving our contestants much to work with.
Jason, again!: I guess I don't know this song, but hello? It's utterly cheesy!
David Cook: I pretty much like everything David does, but I don't know this song, so I can't say that I'm terribly excited by it, but I did enjoy it. Paula calls him the American Idol. Simon says he's brilliant. I do agree that it was less cheesy. I hope it's the one we can buy off itunes. I'm such a groupie.
Brooke: Brooke is at the piano which, I do believe, generally works for her. That was a nice performance. I guess I just don't love these songs.
David A.: The song was ok. I don't know, all a bit cheesy still for me. I'm really sorry if some of you are huge Neil Diamond fans.
Ooh an Indiana Jones commercial! I might see that. What about you all?
Syesha: Yay, it's the personality filled Syesha! Very fun and upbeat performance!
My favorites tonight: David Cook (huge surprise) and Syesha. Going home? Maybe Jason.
By the way, I have a quite a few TV blogs in my reader and they've been all abuzz with the now official declining ratings of Idol. Fox is being very aggressive about this and apparently conducting some research. Some of the ideas presented have included starting straight from Hollywood week and using flashbacks to auditions. (uh, what?) Other questions have been focused on Ryan. So....if you could change something about Idol what would it be? What will save Idol? (it's still the number one TV show but the ratings are not as strong as they used to be)

Blogging Idol Top 6: Andew Lloyd Weber!!
Idol top 6...how is this possible already? Has anyone else noticed all our shows are back on this week (back until the actors strike)....Thursday..LOST wa-hoo!!!!!!!!
Back to Idol...
Happy Earth Day everyone. I wanted to do something Earth Day on the blog, but a bunch of stuff has suddenly cropped up in real life that has forced me (much to my tremendous dismay) to neglect the blog. But I could never leave you alone on Idol night. Oh no. I have my priorities straight....Idol and then the continued existence of mankind on Earth.
Anyway, Idol wants us to know they care about the Earth, too. Fox has a nice little green logo and the finale will be green. Yay!
Lotsa band tonight...I love "Music of the Night" when sung beautifully, it gives me goosebumps.
I do love the music of Andrew Lloyd Weber. Oh yay! The Idols got to go to Vegas to see ALW. I bet it's hot there. Those are my strongest feelings about Vegas. (it's hot because it's sin city....JK!!!!) He says some nice stuff about getting things to work for them and being story driven. You know I love that stuff.
Paula states something well for once and Simon doesn't get it. Oh well.
Syesha: I think this is a good choice for Syesha. Love her hair! Very fun performance for Syesha! She shows some spunk and personality and doesn't try to reach any vocal heights out of her reach. Good job! Plus I love her hair like that. Oh wait, already said that. The judges agree with me. Of course they do!
Jason Castro tackles "Memory". Um? I normally think of this as a power voice song. He's cracking me up about not knowing a cat was singing it. Love me some TS Eliot. Uh-oh. This doesn't sound good to me. You know, there were some pretty parts to that song, but I just love a soaring vocal on this song and that wasn't it. Paula tries to put a nice spin on it...but let's get real. Ryan calls Simon our resident glamour puss. LOVE IT!
Brooke White: I love this song! (I adore the musical Evita) ALW says....you have no idea what you're doing. But he straightens her out. Oh my goodness! She does a restart!! Yikes! Goosebumps! Not so much from the singing as the gorgeousness and sadness of this song. Not bad but the rough beginning might hurt her. :( Simon contradicts Paula over the start/stop issue.
David Archuleta: Bunch of girls give him some love. I bet Brooke needs those hugs. He's singing "Think of Me" ALW says...open those eyes! I love every song in Phantom. (like Evita) Like a baby that doesn't want to go to sleep, he's fighting to keep those eyes open. Good for him...don't give in David--keep them open!!!! Interesting take on this song...kind of cool, but I guess I just love the good old fashioned version. It's like one of those updated Christmas songs or something. Nice ending! Actually that was pretty cool. Well done, David A!
Carly Smithson: She tried to sing the famous love song from Phantom, but ALW wisely directed towards "Jesus Christ Superstar". Carly has personality! I'm so relieved she sang this instead of "All I Ask of You" Ok, the performance is starting to wear on me a little. (it might be the song) Methinks we won't be getting rid of Carly this week.
David Cook: David Cook is singing the most sexy song ALW has ever written. How appropriate. :) (I've enjoyed ALW as a mentor..he's been funny and truly helpful) This is a different side to David. I like it. Not Michael Crawford by any stretch of the imagination, but really good nonetheless. Will be buying it for sure.
I really enjoyed tonight! Who knew? In danger? Jason and Brooke?

A Little Weekend American Idol Fun
This week on American Idol is Andrew Lloyd Weber week. I know, I'm scared, too. But I was worried about Mariah Carey week and it turned out fine.
I heard that Kristy Lee Cook had been planning to sing "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" and I'm very relieved she is no longer on the show. The last thing I need to hear is a country-fied version of that beautiful song.
So what do you think everyone should attempt? Or what do you think they will sing?
Will someone sing "Memory"? "The Music of the Night?" "The Point of No Return?" "Another Suitcase in Another Hall?" There are so many great songs!
Do you like Andrew Lloyd Weber's music? What's your favorite?

Oh Happy Day!
I didn't expect it, but I'm happy about it!
Kristy Lee Cook goes home!
Best of luck to her! :)
Elliott sounded fantastic didn't he?

Some Things I'd Like to Talk About (mostly book related)
There are some things I'd like to talk about.
The first is James Patterson. I've read all the Women's Murder Club books. I really liked the start to the series but the last several books have just not been that good. More than anything, it's the writing style. (the mysteries are ok) The writing is just really distracting. Now, it's easy to note that all James Patterson's books are written with a co-author. So I'm wondering...does that person do all the writing? Does he do the plotting and they do the writing? Because that's the only thing that makes sense to me. It would also explain the change in writing style in the last three books which I haven't liked that much.
Secondly, I'd like to highlight this bit out of Megan Crane and Liza Palmer's recent conversation promoting Megan's sensational new book, Names My Sisters Call Me.
And I said it before, but it bears repeating: these books are sneered at and trivialized because they are about women. I don't recall any sneering or rolled eyes when I was handed the fifty-seventh "young man reflects on the tragedies of war" tome in high school. Why? Because stories about young men and their explorations of self and their worlds and their relationships with other men are considered inherently valuable. Men are interesting. Men are worthwhile subjects for fiction. Write about young men and their worlds and you will be feted and congratulated and called a "wunderkind," and no one will call what you write anything but literary. How is a Brett Easton Ellis book any different from, say, a Lauren Weisberger or a Candace Bushnell novel: glossy worlds, jaded protagonists, and all? The only difference is this: books by and about women are perceived, as women are still perceived, to be less than similar books by men. I've been reading about the chick lit controversy for years now, and despite all the hithering and yonning about what's good literature and what's not and elitist snobbery this and commercial crap that and blah blah blah, I think it all boils down to sexism in action, plain and simple. We do not yet live in a world of gender equality, and I think this endless argument proves that. Again and again.(read the rest here)
Agree or disagree? I think she makes a very valid point and it's totally interesting to me and I'd love to talk about it if anyone is game.
And lastly, who is going to get the boot on Idol tonight? I think Carly or Brooke.

Live Blogging Idol Top 7: Mariah Night!
When I was in elementary school, I thought Mariah Carey was soooo cool. I listened to "Someday" a million times on a little cassette single I had. (much to my mother's dismay) I'm a bit worried for tonight, we'll see how it goes!
Ryan tells us we must vote. Ok, charge taken Ryan! We have a nice little video about Mariah here. She has a cute dog!
Ryan points out that the judges always say...don't sing these kinds of songs! Now, they have to. Probably means Randy will hate everyone.
David Archuleta: He's singing the Prince of Egypt song. Mariah, in a shocking move, says go for the falsetto. I like this song, it's a pretty one. David sounds alright to me, I suppose I prefer a girl singing this song. Wow, Randy liked it!
Carly Smithson: Carly insults all the others by saying it's been boring without Michael. Ha. Carly's singing "Without You" The codependent song of the century! Theoretically, this should be good. This sounds super cheesy! Anyone else? She sounds pretty good, but the music and back-ups are super cheesy! Simon doesn't think she pulled it off. I agree. The way he says she's overthinking reminds me of my students! I know they can be excellent, but they overanalyze every last thing!
This Patrick Dempsey Maid of Honor movie looks lame.
Syesha Mercado: She's going to sing "Vanishing" I don't know this song, and I actually think it's kind of boring. She sounds alright, though. Paula and Simon disagree on whether choosing an unknown song is a good idea. I say, not a good idea because I started spacing during the song.
Brooke White: "Hero" Um, ok. Brooke does not have a Mariah voice. This song is pretty and probably the studio version sounds nice . The ending is rushed, the pacing seems off. I think Brooke could be in danger this week. Simon comes up with a food comparison. Lovely.
Kristy Lee Cook: Ugh. It's ok, but so very Kristy. Not my style. The judges love her.
David Cook: "Always Be My Baby" An annoying song. Love David. (he hasn't even started yet, ha!) Mariah liked it and heaps some praise on him. I love the style, though I'm not sure his vocals are totally on. Oh, he's on now! Yes, I love it! Love David! :) Wow, Randy gives him a standing ovation! Yay! Paula says something about movie soundtracks. Even Simon liked it! We love David! Don't vote him off, America! David is moved to tears. Love him. (have I said that yet?)
We make a deal out of Simon for president. Uh, no.
Jason Castro: "I Don't Wanna Cry" An interesting version of the song. I like it. I actually really like this version. It's very pretty. Randy didn't like it. The reason being that there were no power notes. Paula and Simon liked it. Simon calls the night for the guys, I totally agree!
Overall? My favorites were David Cook and Jason. I thought Mariah was a good mentor as well, she came across really well.

Sad Idol on Thursday
So not only did the Idols sing the Christian anthem, once--they sang it twice! And it really blessed me. Strangely, enough, I haven't heard it in ages and it was like new. It's easy to forget when you sing that song all the time how sweet the words are...I love them. Poetic and the music soars. (My favorite line is "I sing for joy at the work of Your hands" what's yours?) I downloaded the track off iTunes and I encourage you to do the same. I think the proceeds go to Idol Gives Back. I was hoping the Rent song was on there, too, but it's not. I love that song, too.
You could also download David Cook's track "Innocent" It's actually really good, the full length studio version. I can't seem to stop listening to it. I'm considering getting Jason's as well.
Jordin Sparks is so pretty! But I wasn't really digging that performance. Kind of liked the song, though. (codependent though it was)
Finally, I'm really super duper bummed about Michael. It seems wrong that Carly is still around and he has to go. BUMMER!! We'll miss you Michael!

Some Thoughts on Idol Gives Back
I should start by saying I wasn't riveted to the screen. I was doing other things while the show aired, so I may have missed some stuff.
I really enjoyed the clips where they showed us the needs. Not enough of that. But they were really touching for the most part, I especially enjoyed Bono's.
Secondly, I definitely need to be watching So You Think You Can Dance...they were amazing!
Thirdly, loved all the insults heaped upon Simon.
Not enough Brad Pitt. :) I think Brad's little project in New Orleans is cool. I like that they blend needs here and needs across the sea. He also said some good words about how tonight isn't just about raising money but that sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone to understand a situation.
My final question is...do you think the recession is going to affect charitable giving or has it already? Share your thoughts!

Live Blogging Idol: Top 8 Inspiration
It's charity week, y'all! That means, I do believe, delayed results this week. Yup, Ryan confirms it. Paula needs to put some clothes on!
We will be treated to songs of inspiration tonight. Should be interesting.
Michael Johns: Starts out good. What in the world is this ending? YIKES. Should have skipped that bit, and I'd have liked it better. Good song. Randy is not necessarily digging it. Paula compliments his looks. DEATH!! I agree that the whole blues thing is a bit of a better for direction for our lovely Michael.
This commerical with Kelly has been on for like a year now. Time to update!
Syesha Mercado: Instead of talking about Syesha, we talk about Rami! She's singing a previous Idol's song...not a good choice. Didn't Lakisha sing this on the same night last year? I think Syesha has a lovely voice but wants to be a "diva" when she doesn't necessarily have those skills. That's a bummer, because I like her voice. As per usual, they talk about how Fantasia is awesome and Syesha not so much. Note from Amy to Idols: Please refrain from singing songs that are closely associated with other Idols.
Jason Castro takes on Kat McPhee's signature song, with a twist!: Jason is a different sort and I actually love the simplicity of this version. This is one of my favorite songs, something about how it's so sad and hopeful at the same time. Nice job, Jason!
Kristy Lee Cook: She's singing a Martina song! Um, maybe I just don't like country music type voices. (confession: I don't like Carrie Underwood's voice) This is a pretty song, great words, but Kristy stills fall short to me. Randy says it was pitchy, I agree. I think she was just alright.
MySpace.com/IdolGivesBack
David Cook: "Innocent" I don't think I know this song. I don't think he's one hundred percent sure of why he chose this song...I think he just wants to sing it. Ok, you know I love David and while that was a good performance, I don't think it was a good choice for tonight. It was ok, but not necessarily all that exciting. Paula heaps some praise on him. Does the white jacket represent innoncence? Gosh he's cute, though.
Carly Smithson: singing a Queen song. I think she's dressed nicely tonight. I do not like this performance. I think Carly is in danger. She needs to have an awesome performance. Saying the song is not engaging is saying it well. She always comes across as a bit defeated to me.
David Archuleta: I expect him to pick a good song. "Angels" hmmm...I don't know this song. David's playing the piano. Once again, I'm underwhelmed. I guess it was ok. The crowd seems to like it. I agree with Simon...the vocal was a bit off.
Brooke White: I LOVE this song. I think this is a good song for her and for tonight. Let's see....Nice performance from Brooke. I agree, nothing to jump up and down about, but lovely.
Tomorrow night is charity night. Will you watch? Do you like that Idol highlights needs like this? Who was your favorite tonight? I must know!

Live Blogging Idol Top 9
The show starts off with the lamest April Fools joke ever, though a Moment of Truth with Simon might actually get me to watch that show!
Meet Dolly! She's been doing this for-ev-er. Aw, Dolly has no children. Her songs are her kids! Hmmm. The Idols join in a group rendition of 9-5.
Brooke is up first with "Jolene" Dolly thought she was really good! What will I think?
I think this is a good song choice for Brooke. I like this song...I don't really know Dolly's songs. I love violins. A good performance, I think, but nothing electrifying. Paula is babbling about emotional connection. Simon says..uh, no emotional connection.
David Cook is next! Oh wow, American Idol is trying to satisfy the very annoying Doxology by making David mention he borrowed a bit from them. (I think it's ridiculous that they are getting all up in arms over their interpretation of someone else's song) I don't know this song, "Little Sparrow" Dolly likes David. Don't we all? Well,I liked it. I think I'll buy it off itunes. (has anyone else been buying these? they're really good!)
Ramiele is next...Dolly thinks she's cute. Oh boy, another boring song that doesn't distinguish Rami in the least. Doesn't matter. She's got mad fans.
Jason Castro has some fan mail...a bunch from one girl! He is not singing "I Will Always Love You" as rumored. (I admit, I'm relieved) I kind of like this song and it suits Jason. Not a bad performance. Simon disagrees with me. But as all of us who watch this show know..Simon hates country music and really doesn't give good comments during country week!
Carly picks a song Dolly didn't write. It sounds like a pretty song. Carly sounds good and it's a pretty song, but again nothing really outstanding. Simon picks on her wardrobe. What do you all think?
Simon says he loves country music. I think he's right about this night, so far nothing has been exciting.
David Archuleta is singing "Smoky Mountain Memories" Dolly feels David gets her song. That is really cool and a great compliment to him. I think this is a pretty song and David sings it beautifully. He picked a good ole emotional song and that was smart, I think.
Kristy Lee Cook should be awesome because she's been doing country. Now this sounds like a country song to me. In other words, I don't really like it. I guess she sounds ok, but this isn't a song anyone can really grab onto is it? I do agree with Paula that she looks nice tonight. I agree with Simon...totally forgettable. Why is she blowing a kiss to Simon? (she's sort of coming off as a brat)
Syesha: is going to sing "I Will Always Love You" I knew it!! (Idol gives back is next week...aaah!) Oh, hi Vanna White! So far, very simple. Ok, a little bit of kick here. Wow!! Long note!!! Lung power! I do agree with Randy about ever hearing someone else sing that...Whitney has such a rich voice and sounds so beautiful on that song. Overall, not as awesome as it could have been, but not bad.
YES! The Moment of Truth season is over tomorrow! I'm so tired of hearing about that show.
Michael: "It's all Wrong, but it's all right" Dolly compliments him by saying she'd like to write songs for him! Michael sounds good tonight..nothing tremendously exciting, but still good and enjoyable. (kind of a sexy performance)
Interesting week....my faves were the Davids and Michael. What say you?

Super Bummed
I would have been happy to see at least 3 or 4 others go instead tonight. Chikezie suffered from bad song choices several times throughout the competition....but he does have a beautiful voice. I'm glad he will at least be able to be on tour.
But folks we still have Kristy and Ramiele....ugh.

David Cook
Dear Non-Idol watching readers:
I know you don't watch American Idol, but I think you'll really enjoy this video of my favorite Idol this year.

Idol Top 10
I didn't blog while watching the show tonight because I didn't watch at home. However, such is the addiction of blogging that I was mentally writing a post while watching. Sigh.
Ramiele: I'm not sure why she chose this song. Apparently, Carly already sang it this season. (it obviously wasn't that memorable for me) but it's one of the performances that is well beloved by the most successful Idol ever..Carrie Underwood. Unfortunately, Ramiele sounds terrible. Truth be told, I have really wanted to like Ramiele all season, but she just hasn't had a performance where she was AWESOME. So if she goes home tomorrow, it will be okay with me.
Jason: Jason sings a great song, but I agree with the judges, it's just not that exciting. Going second and sounding bland are not going to be in his favor come tomorrow. He does have gorgeous eyes, though, so maybe that will keep him in.
Syesha: I wish Syesha would sing a likeable song. Whenever she chooses one of the show-off-my-vocal-powers sort of songs, I just don't like the songs. She sounds good, but if it was a more likeable ballad it would have been better for me. Just sayin.
Chikezie: Tries to go with his gut and sing a ballad. Judges are unimpressed. I still love me some Chikezie, but I'm a bit underwhelmed as well. These sort of cheesy ballads are not my cup of tea. (see above)
Brooke: A couple of weeks ago, Paula said Brooke should have brought in the band. I think she heeded that advice this week to poor results. I agree that if she had kept with just her and that piano all would have been better. I really liked the beginning of the song. I still think Brooke is someone I would listen to outside of the Idol world.
Michael: Honestly, I enjoyed it but I don't think I was impressed as the judges. I do think he showed good energy, I'm sure it was good fun live.
Carly: My college drama group used to do a mime to this song! I still love this song for that reason. ;) I would have thought this would be a good song for Carly, but she does. not. sound. good. (shouty or something?) I also think she makes some strange expressions when she sings.
David A.: I do love David, but this performance is cheesetastic. Nuff said.
Kristy: First of all, Simon knows this country and I agree with him that this was a clever choice. Then he went overboad trying to align himself with Americans. This is an anecdote of being a PK for you...I used to think the words were...."I won't forget the man who died who gave that right to me" I mean, because obviously when we were talking about someone dying for me, there was only one Man right? ;) I think she was pitchy, but there are plenty of people who get goosebumps everytime they hear this song..I think she'll stay around.
David C.: Let me put it this way. I think David has solidified his position as my favorite. I've liked him every week and tonight? He was AWESOME! Now if only he can come up with something clever for Andrew Lloyed Weber week..(Memories rock style anyone?)
What did you all think?
