Super Bummed

I would have been happy to see at least 3 or 4 others go instead tonight. Chikezie suffered from bad song choices several times throughout the competition....but he does have a beautiful voice. I'm glad he will at least be able to be on tour.

But folks we still have Kristy and Ramiele....ugh.

Totally agree. Was VERY disappointed. WHY IS KRISTY still in this thing? She can't even sing a whole 90 seconds on tune. On the other hand, love that David Cook!

Kristy sounded great this week so I am not going to rag on her. I wish Ramiele was gone. I liked Chikezie but I didn't think he was going to win so I am fine with him going.

I have officially sworn off result shows finding that they are a complete waste of time and will now be counting on you to report the goodbyers.

P.S. My crush on DC is growing to an unhealthy level. You want to know why? I think about him 10 times more on the nights that Idol isn't on. I have a problem.

In the little video preview, Chikezie admitted that he knew he was going against the judges' advice, but said he felt good about the song.

See, what I think these contestants do sometimes when deciding on a song is try out a version of the song, listen back to the recording and think, "Wow, I sounded really good."

And he did sound really good. His voice showed a lot of range and texture.

BUT... Now we know the rest of the story. When Chikezie was doing the upbeat, fun songs and entertaining the audience, he was a hit. When he does bland ballad things, he just didn't stand out enough.

The contestants can't ever forget that it's a competition. You're not just competing to show that you can sing a boring song with a good voice. The American public gets bored easily and has a short attention span.

You have to entertain people, stand out in the crowd, do something unique. I would have loved for Chikezie to stick around longer. He was definitely better than several of the others still left standing.

Ramiele just puzzles me. I have no idea who is listening to that and thinking "This is good." I do know that the Filipino community is very close-knit. Do a web search and you'll get the impression this may be where her fan base is. (I mean no disrespect by pointing this out. Just trying to theorize on why she's doing so well with votes in light of her mediocre performances.)

I think you're right about the filipina thing. I also think she's just little and cute and that's appealing to a lot of people.

Maybe she'll break out with Dolly's songs.

"According to TV Guide, Paula reveals on this morning's edition of FOX's "The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet" that she believes it will come down to CARLY SMITHSON, DAVID ARCHULETA, DAVID COOK and MICHAEL JOHNS."

But do we really care what Paula thinks?
Well, actually we do! Because she said the words David and Cook right next to eachother. Can't wait for tonighhhh!
