Booking Through Thursday: Format

All other things (like price and storage space) being equal, given a choice in a perfect world, would you rather have paperbacks in your library? Or hardcovers? And why?

I love trade size paperbacks best. I just love the size and the way they feel in my hands. The quality is excellent and the print size is usually perfect. Hardback would be second the jackets and cracked spines get on my nerves, and last is mass market paperback, which I loathe.

(speaking of...why oh why did Steeple Hill have to start publishing all of the Cafe books in mass market? Now my series, like the Josey books by Susan May Warren don't match, and I really think that Chill Out Josey was worthy of being a trade size book. don't you all agree?)

I'm all for trade paperback novels - actually I hate Hardback (because it hurts my hands after awhile, but dooable). I loathe MMbacks. Those stink monkey butt. I had the same problem with "The Whitney Chronicles". I've got the Trade paperback version but now "Baby Chronicles" is in Mass! grr, and it doesn't match. I don't have Josey 1 (which is a shame, it's out of print (sob), But yeah, that one is coming in back in Mass too....

death to mass market paperback!

Livvie,

Glad to see someone else who hates mass market! I can't believe Josey is out of print! I think the Josey books are the best Christian chick lit out there, well and Theodora's Diary and Wedding. And Only Uni which is SO good! (review coming soon!) I haven't read Baby Chronicles yet, is it good?

I think that because Steeple Hill is a part of Harlequin Romances, they only are in print for at most a year before they go out of print. I remember in my romance novel days, you had to pick them up quick because they sold out ASAP!

Baby Chronicles is awesome! it was hilariously funny, and touching as well. it was a great sequel. I can't wait for your Only Uni review. I'm SOOO behind on my reading, i'm cross-stitching right now AND looking for a job, hehe reading gets pushed aside. I've got those ones too (Theodora's Trilogy - Diary, Wedding, Baby). we like the same books that's so cool!
