Carl, We Want a Vlog

One of the highlights of BEA was the opportunity to meet so many awesome bloggers in real life. Kathy of Bermuda Onion was one of the bloggers I met and she's tops. Really, she's just a wonderful person in every way.

In addition to Kathy, I met Kathy's husband Carl. Let me tell you how cool Carl is. We all woke up at the crack of dawn, (after only two hours of sleep for Julie and I!) to stand in line to get tickets to snag a copy of Catching Fire signed by Suzanne Collins. Unfortunately, Natasha was still in the shuttle on the way to the convention center from the airport. We were all feeling bummed because we weren't supposed to get more than one ticket for a signing and we were worried Natasha would miss out. Well guess what? Carl got a ticket for Natasha! Wasn't that nice of him?

Now Carl has read both the Hunger Games and Catching Fire but he hasn't reviewed them for Kathy. Maybe he doesn't like writing. Fair enough. But I think we'd all like to hear his thoughts on these beloved books. So why not do a vlog?

I'm Issuing a Dare!

Now that the bulk of BBAW Awards Nominee Notifications (Book Blogger Appreciation Week Awards) have gone out (only those that do not require submission information remain to be notified), it's time to do something I've been wanting to do for awhile.

Dare someone in the I Dare You challenge.

See, the first season of Cheers is currently unopened under my bed but I do foresee a post BBAW Cheers watching party. Apparently I am going to become mad addicted and watch all 456 seasons. And if someone is doing that to me, well I want to do that to someone else! (watching the first season of Cheers was my challenge)

Who could I dare? I labored over this and finally realized...duh! Who hasn't watched one of my favorite TV shows even though pretty much everyone in the book blogosphere has told her she should? Nymeth of course!*

So here's my official dare, written at 12:23 A.M.

NymethAnaThingsMeanALot, I dare you to accept this challenge. I dare you to complete the one and only item on this list.

Watch the first season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

This challenge must be completed in: 1 year. I think that's terribly generous and full of fairness (and-also-I-hate-putting-pressure-on-people)

If you fail in this challenge you must write a public letter of apology. :)

But if you succeed then I will read any book of your choosing!

I'm Procrastinating Again

So, yeah, I'm moving this week. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate moving? I hate it. Part of the problem is that I have an incredible ability to accumulate stuff. Very very quickly. I don't really understand how one moment I have nothing, and the next there is all this...stuff. Take for example, the most difficult thing in the world to move is also the thing I love best...books. They are heavy! They come in different sizes! I don't even want to tell you how many books I acquire a week (mostly due to blogging). It's an embarrassment of riches.

Secondly, we don't run the a/c here at the homestead and the temperature has escalated into the 100s. On the weekend I'm supposed to be packing. So after I put like three books into a box I need to take a break. So I don't pass out.

Thirdly, I am not at all organized, so while I'm packing my room looks like it threw up. Stuff is everywhere and somehow I have to get that stuff into the boxes. In the meantime, it's getting on my last nerve sitting out instead of being tucked away in a drawer or a shelf.

So as you can see, I hate moving. And it's 2:27 a.m. and I keep telling myself I need to sleep, but the computer is enticing me into procrastination. I have caught up on my reader, read about a zillion LOST theories, and found the following two videos of the TV shows I am most looking forward to this next television cycle. This past week was the unveiling of the networks schedules and while it was mostly a bit dull these videos have found their way to me. Tell, me they look fantastic do they not?
