Bookish Stuff, Movies, TV, and Need Your VOTE!

I'm in the mood to talk about a bunch of different things that are all fairly superficial--so here goes!

Team Peeta
Team Peeta badge
Yes, yes I am. After having read Catching Fire, even more so. I am so Team Peeta, I didn't even realize there was a Team Gale! Michelle even made gorgeous little badges for whatever persuasion you are. We were trying to cast the roles of Peeta, Gale, and Katniss on Twitter yesterday. It's extraordinarily difficult. For one thing, I don't normally dig blonds but I adore Peeta. For another, I don't really know any young actors and actresses that could play these roles. It's really important to me that Peeta and Katniss are perfectly cast for the movie..whenever it gets made. I'd love to hear your thoughts on who bring these great characters to life! By the way, if you're on Twitter and a fan of Peeta, be sure to use the hashtag #TeamPeeta

A Perfect Getaway
I went to see this fun little thriller over the weekend. It was pretty decent considering I had no idea what it was about from the trailer. Also realized, I'm pretty fond of this guy:

Timothy Olyphant

Even though he seems to play someone rather psychotic in everything I see him in! The movie is probably okayto wait for on DVD (have you noticed it takes only 2-3 months now!!!) but it is fun to watch.

Supernatural and the Vampire Diaries in a month
Wheeeeee!!! I think Thursday night is going to be the hottest night on TV! In case you haven't been persuaded to join my super fabulous L.J. Smith Reading Challenge of the Vampire Diaries, and watch along, here's some more incentive!

Ian
Stefan

It's going to be so great!

Finally, I need you to vote on the button for the L.J. Smith Vampire Diaries Reading Challenge. Here are the entries:

Entry 1

Entry 2

Entry 3

Okay how about one last thrill?

When does Gossip Girl come back?

The Nawrot household (at least three out of the four members) are pretty twitchy about Cathing Fire. We listened to The Hunger Games on audio in the car, and pray that the audio for this one will come out simultaneously!???? We have had lengthy discussion about casting, and for all the effort, we haven't settled on a single cohesive idea. I think I would know the right person if I saw them though. We are all Team Peeta, BTW!

Wow there is soooooo much goodness in this post I don't even know where to begin.

Ok, well I do....Ed Westwick is just H-O double T HOT!

I voted for number one in the poll but now that I think more about it since it I like number three the best. Gah, I'm so far behind on my feedreader I still haven't gotten to your challenge post. But know that when I do I'll be signing up!

I'm not much into the blondes either but I'm definitely down for Team Peeta regardless. It's more about his personality and heart than his looks for me anyway! I threw my hat in the ring for casting with Tayor Kitch, Scott Speedman, and grrrrr I can't remember the third I'll have to stream through my Twitter to see. I'm interested to hear what others come up with!

Oh. My. God. Timothy Olyphant is one hot man! You're right, he does lend himself to psycho parts very easily, but have you seen Deadwood? You must have at least heard of it. He plays the sheriff of this lawless town during the American goldrush and he can really make a mo work!

I don't have Catching Fire yet and won't until release day, but right now I'm definitely on Team Peeta. I wonder if that will change? I haven't decided whether or not to join your L.J. Smith reading challenge. I'm thinking about a TBR pile ban, but if I decide to just go for it, i'll be joining.

I'm Team Gale. But I haven't read CF... It's on pre-order and I'm counting the days.

I am shamefully excited about the return of Gossip Girl. I am hoping that Chuck and Blair will BE EVIL TOGETHER and not have reformed completely just because they are all kissyface now.

I'll spare you a re-hash of my thoughts on Peeta vs. Gale, but suffice it to say that Peeta is a little too *nice* for me.

Gossip Girl: I just discovered it in February when hubby went out of town for 2 weeks and I found myself watching the entire first season on DVD in a little under 4 days. It's addictive, I tell you! And now I'm stoked because he's leaving again at the end of the month, just in time for me to grab season 2 and be caught up by the time the new season starts. It's embarrassing but awesome.

I am sooo not on a team yet. I haven't read these books yet and I feel so left out.

I saw Julie and Julia this weekened with some folks from my book group and while waiting in line they were talking about Perfect Getaway. I guess it's getting some good reviews even though no one has any clue what it's about.

Team Gale all the way :)

I haven't read Catching Fire yet, so don't really know enough to choose between them, though my gut reaction after just HG is Peeta.

As far as casting goes - I don't know. I always have an idea of a character in my head, but often the casting in a film version is so different. I still can't get over being bummed that Miley Cyrus is playing Laurel in Wings!

I haven't read Catching Fire yet, so I can't really say which team I would be on. I didn't think the romance between Gale and Katniss was developed enough to really know what kind of chemistry they had in The Hunger Games. I'll let you know when I finish CF.

Chuck Bass....YUM!! I need to catch up on Season 2 of GG!!

I'm so excited about "The Vampire Diaries," I can't even explain it. I think I'll have to join this challenge for sure.

You had me at Chuck Bass. ;O) Can HE be Gale? I have to write up a post about my Team Gale button but I need to find a perfect cast pick for him first. I am apparently the only one who is already on TG having not read Catching Fire, yet. Oh, September 1st can't come fast enough!

I have not been fortunate enough to read Catching Fire yet, but I am totally Team Peeta. LOVE. Him.
