The Weekly Review: Week Ending April 11

I hope you all had a productive week! I have to admit, I'm glad this week is coming to a close. It was exhausting in many ways! But there was still lots of good stuff to be found in the blogosphere, hope you enjoy!

Blogging and Twitter
Jen of Devourer of Books shared the search terms that brought people to her blog. Go check it out, I love these kinds of posts! I've thought of adding a few to the weekly review...what do you think? I can tell you now that LOST searches and "my friend" searches bring lots of people here!

It's a Crime! Or a Mystery has a survey for book bloggers right now. Beware, this takes some time as its essay style answers, but its pretty interesting. If you blog about books and especially if you accept review copies you should check it out!

And speaking of all of that, I love the book community on Twitter. I don't know how everyone else operates, but we're a tight knit bunch of bloggers, readers, authors, librarians, industry folk, booksellers, etc. who engage in bookish all day long. (yes we're nerds) So why not use the exploding platform of Twitter to publish a book? Okay I can think of a few reasons, but Beth would love to hear your thoughts on whether or not publishing and Twitter mix!

Bookish Talk
Shelly's going to participate in I Rock the Drop, are you? Don't know what that is? Go check it out!

I recently received Jantsen's Gift in the mail for review and Carrie is giving away 5 copies! It looks really good so be sure to check it out!

Authors can become famous...did you ever think of how difficult that aspect of the writing life can be for them?

I loved loved this post by Beth about who she writes for and also the trailer for her forthcoming book, Nothing But Ghosts!

Television and Film
An interesting piece on this week's shocking House...I hardly ever have time to watch this show anymore but was sobered by this episode. Anyone else? I can't get that scene where they found Kutner out of my head.

Thoughts on Egyptian Myth and LOST at Lostpedia and Popular Mechanics.

Strange Culture has an interesting post on the popularity of island films and also a look forward to the adaptation of Dennis Lehane's Shutter Island. Has anyone read this book?

And just for fun and Happy Easter...here's how to make Movie Themed Easter Eggs!

Hey—thank you, Miss Amy. How sweet of you to include me here. I was thinking of you this morning—I took a very early morning walk with my camera into the bracing spring air, and everything was brilliantly spring and daffodil redolent and Easter perfect, just as Good Friday here was dark and contemplative, as it always should be.

Thank you for being you, and Happy Easter.

Happy Easter! Thanks for the links, Jen's post on search terms was hysterical. I haven't joined twitter or facebook yet. I feel like I'm missing out but I fear that I will have no time to balance it all if I add more. Twitter is tempting with the book community!

Oh, I'm a season behind on Lost. My husband and I are watching it online and have two episodes left for season 4. We can't wait to watch season 5, then I'll come back and read all of your Lost posts!

Happy Easter, Amy! I hope you had a wonderful celebration with family and friends!

Yes, I like to read the posts about search terms. I get a few funny ones every once in a while, but I haven't written about them; I haven't yet read Jen's post ... heading there now ...

I love posts like this ... and yours was very informative. I too love the search term posts ...it just makes me aware of how many odd people are out there and how much Google can improve its search engine! HAHA!

And I did read Shutter Island but it was ages ago ... I can't remember much about it. Was that the one with the "asylum" being investigated?

And thanks for your visit ... I'll be looking forward to your review of "The Moment Between."

I have the same giveaway going too!

I also have Shutter Island sitting in my TBR. Guess I better get on that!
