Review and Giveaway: Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual

The most important part of the title of this book is: "For everyone from Beginner to Pro"

I don't wear a lot of make-up. For a long time I didn't wear any. But I have a baby face that makes people think I'm a lot younger than I am, and people suggested wearing make-up would make me look older. So I gave it a try and ended up looking like a baby wearing make-up. :)

I do, however, have an interest in it and in finding that perfect look that will make me look every one of my 28 years.

The Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual, therefore, is perfect for someone like me. It starts at the beginning with all the basic information you need, is full of tips, pictures and charts to help you look your best. It's also helpful for anyone looking to do make-up professionally as a make-up artist, with an entire section devoted to that.

Here's the information on the book:
Bobbi Brown's Make-up Manual is the book that Bobbi Brown's fans have been waiting for: her 25-plus years of makeup styling experience distilled into one complete, gorgeous book. Bobbi looks at everything from skincare basics to every aspect of facial makeup. And Bobbi looks beyond the face with informative chapters on "Hands and Feet" and "Body Skin Care." Plus, there's a groundbreaking section of the book that will be of special interest to women who've wanted to know how makeup stylists do what they do: the top beauty secrets only these artists know, essential equipment to keep on hand, how to break into the business, and how to work with photographers and celebrities.

BOBBI BROWN'S MAKEUP MANUAL will be the only book any woman will need to look absolutely fabulous.

I love Bare Escentuals makeup - doesn't cause any breakouts when I wear it.

How fun! If there's one thing I need instruction on... it's how to deal with makeup. :-) Thanks for the giveaway, Amy!

I actually had to go look in my makeup basket. :) My favorite brand of cosmetics is Prestige. It is the only foundation I have found that matches my skin tone exactly (after years of trial and error).

I love me some Bonnie Bell because I am cheap-ASS! But I do splurge on my blush and go Mac, because bad blush makes you look clownish.

I am most thoroughly make-up challenged so I definitely need this! Does oil of olay skin lotion count as a favourite brand of makeup? Um... how about Max Factor... I think I have some mascara by him...

I told you I am challenged :)

I love MAC and Bonnie Bell.

I have several favourite brands -- it's more about what you're asking me about. For foundation and quality basics, I am a MAC girl. For eyeshadow, I like the cheapish stuff, usually NYC Colour or something similar. For mascara, I like Marcelle or Lash Blast. Now, my favourite eyeliner (this is the most important) is Rimmel London exaggerate. I love it to pieces (I even keep one in my desk) because you don't have to sharpen it! It's a wind-up stick!

LOL On the topic of make up books, for inspiration, I love Kevin Aucoin's book.

I love playing with makeup, Amy! I have two makeup faves. I am addicted to Loreal's pan stick. It provides just the right coverage and doesn't ever leave me shiny. I am also a huge fan of simple Great Lash mascara by Maybelline! Please enter me too!

Thanks!!!!

I couldn't live without my mascara. Without it my eyes looks dead. I have really short eyelashes that aren't very dark. :)
