What's Your Favorite Comfort Food?

Once upon a time I used to review books! And I do have some coming for you, but did you know that between answering emails, reading other blogs, and indulging in a little guilty pleasure television watching it's hard to squeeze in time for reviews of books? And this is my last night at home this week. Gah.

Which leads me to...it's actually been cool the last couple of evenings! Feels like fall! And that makes me think of comfort foods.

I like chai. (not a food really, huh?) followed closely by pasta with red meat sauce or lasagna....what about you?

I love this time of year. I love soups, stews, and things I can make in the crock pot. I also love the way cinnamon can be both sweet and savory. Perfect weather for curling up with a book!

When I think of fall, I think of a yummy meal at my mom's of a juicy ham, mashed potatoes and green beans. The thought just gets me going. I try to recreate the meal here for the kids but it's just not the same when I have to cook it myself! LOL I do wonder what they'll remember - um mom not really liking to cook and just throwing stuff at them. LOL

I with you on the chai! We had [read: I made] turkey chili and honey cornbread muffins for dinner last night. My 14yo is off school today; we made tomato soup and grilled cheese... for breakfast! We are very much in 'comfort food' mode around here. =)

mac 'n cheese! We very rarely have it, but I like anything warm and cheesy. come to think of it, cold cheese, like a brie with crackers, works for me too :)

My comfort food is pasta. Nothing better than some fettuccine alfredo and breadsticks to warm you up! Is it lunch time yet?

I am like everyone else...chili, tomato soup/grilled cheese, hot chocolate, or if I am really frisky...coffee with baileys!

I'm weird but my comfort food is mac and cheese with gravy over it.

Definitely pasta. I especially like baked mac and cheese. But angel hair pasta with meat sauce will do, too. Both are foods that I associate with my Robinson grandparents.

OK - you're probably gonna think I'm weird, but Kim Chee and tofu. The tofu chopped into chopstick pickupable bite sizes and sprinkled with tamari in a bowl, and a side dish of the Korean spicy marinated bok choy. And total cals for this oriental delicacy? 90. tops.
