40th Day: Taking Action

Today I want to do a few little things that have absolutely nothing to do with what I fasted over.

The first is share something with those of you who sponsor through Compassion International. Now, when you log into your online can see photos of your kids! I love this feature! Probably because I have the cutest little Compassion kids ever.

If you don't have an online account, now's a good time to get one. Writing your sponsored children is a very important part of the sponsorship relationship. You can do it so easily from your computer and even designate some small gifts for their family. And now, while you do it, you can look at their bright and beautiful faces!

To inspire you, I'm going to share with you a recent letter I got from one of my kids. He really is the absolute cutest kid in all of India.

Dear Amy,

I am Viky, greet you in Jesus name. I am fine over here, how are you? I pray for you everyday. My exam has been finished in April and my results will be here soon. I had gone to park today with my mother, where I saw many animals. Among the animals I like rabbits. I am glad that I'm joined in (some words I can't really read) My family condition changing day by day and my spiritual life is also growing by the grace of God. My country India is very beautiful and in this country we can find all sorts of religious people who live in this country. I love my friends because the Bible says love your neighbor. Though we are staying different place, yet we are so near to God. Even though you stay away from me, spiritually we are very near each other. Please pray for my family members and we will pray for you.

I got that two weeks ago, and haven't written back yet. I normally write to my kids about 4 times a year, but I want to make a new commitment to write them all once a month on or around the first day of the month. So that is the action I am committing to today.
How about you? Share with us at Inspired to Action!

Great post Amy.

I have been blessed over the last three months. I have received three letters from the child I sponsor through Compassion. The three letters ended with your loving son. It is hard to put into words what it means to read that at the end of the letter.

Thank you Amy for all the time you put into inspire to action and the 40 day fast.

Actually, I am pretty sure MY kid is the cutest Compassion kid ever, and we have the same name. She's too young to write her own letters, but she draws me pictures every month - I love them!
