Browsing Around the Bookstore

I went to Barnes and Noble this weekend for a good browse. I love to browse around the bookstores, and see what's new out there.

The bad side effect of all of this is that I then want to buy just about every book I see. It must be really hard to be a book competing against so many other books on the shelf. You have to have an eye-grabbing cover, and a catchy title.

I try to remember the books I want to read for future reference. I fogot most of them.

I remember three titles. Tokyo Year Zero, There Will Never Be Another You, and We Need to Talk about Kevin. No idea what the authors names were. One day, perhaps, I'll read them.

What' in your To Be Read pile? (by the way, I didn't buy anything! Give me a virtual high five!)

I've been in a kick for "Classics I've somehow never gotten around to reading". I'm in the middle of Catcher in the Rye and in the pile are Something Wicked This Way Comes and The Count of Monte Cristo.

I read Catcher in the Rye, but it's been awhile. I haven't read the others. Who wrote Something Wicked This Way Comes? What do you think of Catcher? and how in the world do you have time to read? :)

nice reply trashed by Blogger :(

Something Wicked is Ray Bradbury.

I read on planes and at lunch, but work has been too hectic lately. Plus a marriage class we've been in, plus blogging, plus . . .

Half way through Catcher. Been working on it for two weeks; finish in a couple of days. I like it so far - written from an interesting perspective.

These three, plus Martian Chronicles, all bought together at B&N. BONUS: they're on the "school reading" tables, so they're cheap. All four for ~$12.
