Why a Book Blog?

Today is a momentous occasion. This is my vlogging debut! So...if you ever wanted to know just how quickly I talk in real life (oh and why I have a book blog) and also find out why the super fabulous Trish and Natasha have book blogs, than by all means...please watch!

For real, though, I love this community to bits. In the next couple of months, I'm going to meet many of you in real life at the LA Times Festival of Books and BookExpo America. I can't wait! Even if I didn't start out blogging books, I am unspeakably happy and grateful to have found this vibrant and passionate community. And yes....I know I don't look my age.

P.S. This is going to become a regular feature on our blogs...every couple of weeks we'll discuss important issues via video! And we're going to be together in real life in less than two weeks!!!!

P.P.S If you are going to be at Festival of Books or BEA, and want to meet up, be sure to let me know!

Awesome new feature! I love the way it's edited, not to mention the content, of course. I also love how blogging forces me to be a better reader, to think more carefully about what I read, to pay more attention in general. And the community is the best part.

It's so nice to see you and hear you speak! I wish I were brave enough to do a vlog :P

This was great! You don't talk fast, Trish and Natasha talk slowly!

Awesome! You guys are terrific and I think you voiced a lot of the same feelings that other bloggers have. And if you think you talk fast, just wait until you meet me next month!

What a great idea, I loved the Vlog. I enjoyed getting to know you all a bit better and to hear other book bloggers express some of my own feelings. I just started Book blogging this past summer and have absolutely loved it. I am still learning some things, especially about HTML and technical aspects. I look forward to this as a regular feature on your blog. Oh, and I'm really jealous that you guys are all going to BEA and the LA Book Festival! I'll be looking forward to your posts about the experience.

Kudos to you for braving the Vlog feature.. I don't think I would have anything interesting to say out LOUD, I'm normally pretty a quiet person full of ideas and thoughts and many sarcastic comments. A Vlog would scare me to death.

I always love seeing the faces and voices behind the blogs! :)

Wait. You mean these blogs are written by PEOPLE? Real, live people? Holy cow. Next you'll be telling me that Soylent Green is... well, you know.

(JK, nice job!)

Cool! I should do this, too. If there is a forum or something I can send a video of my story to let me know. I've got an interesting perspective to share since I'm also an author. Anyway, thanks for sharing. I wish I lived closer to LA!

We had the same vlogging debut! :) It was so fun to see you talking: I love how book blogging makes me process the books I read more too! And I don't like my age either. ;)

It's nice to see the people behind the avatars. Wouldn't it be great if we could all post our comments like that? Great job on the vlog; I look forward to the next one.

Found your blog doing a search for about LA, books, and the LA Times Festival of Books, which I'm out here planning to attend, all the way from New England, as well as visiting my son, who lives out here.

Nice blog.

My writing blog, while not a "book blog" per se, is about writing, and various topics related to writing and books.

I like the vlog feature. It's something I need to embrace soon.
