2 Great Recent John Cusack Movies You Might Have Missed

I think John Cusack is one of the more underrated actors of our day, he's really pretty fabulous.

Martian Child is a really sweet and perfectly delightful film. If you saw the trailer you might have thought it looked strange, but in reality it's a very moving and hopeful little movie. It's also pretty family friendly which is a rarity today. I actually really loved this one, which tempers the difficulty of life with the power of transforming love. Really recommend it.

Grace is Gone doesn't uplift quite as much, but it's still a lovely little story of a father and his girls and how he copes with the worst possible news he could receive and the choices he makes in how to share that news with his daughters. I probably cried a river, but despite all of that, it's a very human story and a story that could be very real.

Ok, so run out and immediately rent those, but first tell me...what's your favorite John Cusack movie?

I loved Say Anything and Gross Pointe Blank. I don't get to see many movies anymore, but he's definitely one of my favorites!

Grosse Pointe Blank. I don't know why, but to me, that's when he's his hottest. Love that movie!

There was a time when Say Anything was my favorite, and its still on my top ten, but it runs awfully close to High Fidelity. I have whole sections of that movie memorized as well.

If you want to see him in a really dark movie, you have to rent The Grifters.

Probably Grosse Point Blank. That's a funny movie.

Man, that Grace is Gone looks DEPRESSING. If I am in the mood to cry my eyes out I will have to rent that one!

Love them all, but faves are Must Love Dogs, Runaway Jury, & Serendipity.

I haven't seen either of these movies yet. I'm really slacking on the Cusack obsession (oh, before I was a Gosling lunatic, I had a thing for Mr. Cusack, just an fyi). I would have to say Serendipity is my favorite with Say Anything a close second and then of course Grosse Point Blank. Yes, Mama Dawg, that is when he looked his hottest. That scene of him looking at the baby at the HS reunion just kills me. I wonder if he will ever get married and have babies.

I didn't like Grace is Gone although John Cusack is fabulous. Grace was too too sad.

I'm also a fan of John Cusack and his sister Joan Cusack, they're so great. I loved him in Must Love Dogs, Serendipity and Martian Child. I'm dying to see Grace is Gone, thanks for recommending it!!

Loved Martian Child. Very sweet.
I'd have to go with "Better Off Dead" and "Say Anything".

Well, I have to go way, way back and say "The Journey of Natty Gann" is my favorite John Cusak movie - it still makes my cry every time! I just watched Grace is Gone a couple of weeks ago, and it is an amazing performance!

He will always be Lloyd Dobler to me. :) I also like him in Gross Pointe Blank. As an adult, High Fidelity would be my favorite of his roles.

The Grifters with Angelica Houston was really good, kind of dark, but gooood. I love him!
