Halfway Through the Year

Halfway through the year! Here's how it's going!

Books

Loved:
Dark Places by Gillian Flynn
A Place at the Table by Susan Rebecca White
Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight
The Next Time You See Me by Holly Goddard Jones
The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
The Kings and Queens of Roam by Daniel Wallace

Liked:
Strong Poison by Dorothy Sayers
Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
The Never List by Koethi Zan
The Original 1982 by Lori Carson
The She by Carol Plum-Ucci
The First Rule of Swimming by Courtney Angela Brkic
and many more!

Looking Forward To:
The Arrivals by Melissa Marr
Someone Else's Love Story by Joshilyn Jackson
More than This by Patrick Ness
The Crane Wife by Patrick Ness
and many more! (a lot of which have already come out and I just haven't had time to read)
Also looking forward to finishing War & Peace!

TV

Loved:
The Americans
The Walking Dead
Orphan Black
Switched at Birth

And liked:
Hannibal
Elementary
The Fosters
The Good Wife
Bates Motel
Nikita...sort of. There were good stretches and some awful episodes but still really enjoyed anything concerning Nikita and Alex as individuals and as friends.
I'm also watching the third season of The Killing but it is really hard to watch.

Looking Forward To:
The Bridge (I really love the original Danish/Swedish show)
Suits (almost caught up and really really enjoy this show)
The conclusion of Breaking Bad
The return of all the other shows above I like
The third season of Borgen!!!! The gifs I've seen are making me super anxious!

Also really enjoyed watching the first three seasons of Archer on Netflix and finishing Six Feet Under which is a deeply literary show I don't think I ever want to watch again, but I'm glad I watched once. I also watched Lost Girl, but the show seriously lost the plot for me and I don't have much interest in continuing with it past season 2.

Considering watching (always, some of these have been on my list forever):
Parenthood
Friday Night Lights
Justified
The Fall
Hit & Miss

Movies

Loved:
The Loneliest Planet
A Royal Affair
In a Better World
The Apartment

Liked:
Rosemary's Baby
Bernie
Trust
World War Z
The Great Gatsby
The Host (don't laugh at me)
Compliance
Dark Skies
and probably more

Looking Forward To:
Elysium
Before Midnight (apparently it opened wide too fast and so it's not showing in my theater anymore, boo)
Probably others but I don't get very excited for movies, to be honest.

Do we have anything in common? How is your year going so far?

Amy
