Thursday's Thoughts: Blogging

This from the lovely Sher at A Novel Menagerie....

Why did got you begin on your blogging adventure? Tell the who, what, when, where and why! How many blogs do you maintain? How often do you write on your blog and how much time do you spending reading other blogs? Do you feel a compulsion to share your blogging experience with the people in your life? Have you made real connections via your blogging? And, last, but NEVER least…

ARE YOU ADDICTED?

I do feel like I've been talking about this a lot lately, but I started blogging as a way to keep in touch with my friends. I grew up in St. Louis, went to college in Georgia, worked in Japan, and now live in Southern California. So...everyone is everywhere. I had been reading Shaun Groves blog, before I really understood what a blog was and he started out on blogger. To leave a comment, it helped to have an account...and my blog was born. I still read and love Shaun Groves blog, by the way.

I currently maintain 2 blogs...this one and The Friendly Book Nook. I also write for and do some admin work on Inspired to Action. I try to update this blog daily, The Friendly Book Nook six days a week (with two days being posts I write), and Inspired to Action should be at least one day a week, but I've been slacking a little. Soon to be remedied. If I didn't write book blogs (and this personal blog), I would enjoy writing a television blog, I think. I don't know how much time I spend reading other blogs, but it's a lot!

I share about my blogging with some people, but admittedly I still feel a little embarrassed to say too much. There are still a lot of people who have no idea what a blog is.

I haven't met anyone in real life via my blog, though I met several via message boards in the old days. I'd love to meet some people someday, though! I do think I've made connections/friends through blogging, though!

And yes, I'm addicted!

I'm going to check out Shaun Groves...

I feel the same way about some people don't even know what a blog is! Or a RSS feed... like, are they living under a rock? But, not everyone is really into computers n' stuff. And, that's cool... I'm just a geek and am into it.

I love your blog and it's nice to know that you're in So. Cal., too! I'm from H.B.

Most of the time when I tell people about my blog their eyes glaze over. Unless I tell them I have hilarious pictures of my cat posted. Then they might stop by. sigh.

I do not have a blog but i can you i spend alot of time on other peoples. I go to these seeing what new books are being talked about and i don't want to miss out on anything. When Amy had the BBAW my but hurt from sitting here using the comp. so long. I was amazed at all the wonderful blogs i had been missing out on because i didn't know about them. I added several new blog sites that week to my favorites and signed up for the feeds. My family wasn't very happy with me that week but we survived.

I'd like to meet a book blogger who has been blogging for over 2 months who is not addicted! I just posted my first Thursday's Thoughts.
