The Sunday Salon

Yesterday we finally had a nice cool day. It felt like fall and I loved it! I think it's going to get hot again this week (sight) but I take the cool days when I can!

I read quite a few books this week, including My Sister Dilly by Maureen Lang, Runaway by Dandi Daley MacKall, A Constant Heart by Siri Mitchell, two kids books over at The Friendly Book Nook and I'm almost finished with The Little Giant of Aberdeen County by Tiffany Baker.

In fact, my plan for today is to find a nice spot outdoors and read away the afternoon. While I do manage to get a lot of reading done during the week, it is often interrupted. I find Sunday afternoons to be the loveliest time to get uninterrupted reading done.

Of course next weekend, I'll be doing the 24 hour read-a-thon! I'm excited for that. Of course this time, I realize that my limit is about 5 books. I think I'll read some high angst YA books to pass away the time. Are you participating in the read-a-thon? What sort of books do you hope to read?

Oh and if you love vampires, be sure to join in on vampire day on October 3oth!

I'm going to make a nice, big stack of possible reads for the Read-a-Thon!

Me 2...and nope won't be participating in the read-a-thon...I'm working for breast cancer next weekend and hanging out with friends...getting a pedicure and a manicure after the walk.

It's finally been feeling like fall here too. I'm joining in the read-a-thon for the first time. I've thinking what to read and will probably go for a couple graphic novels and some other short, but hopefully fun reads that will keep my attention.

Sounds like you had a great weekend of reading. I am so jealous of people like you who can sit down with a book and finish it in one sitting. Though I love to read it usually takes me over a week to finish any book. I read real slow and my only real time to read is just before bed so I often fall asleep after only a few pages.

Jackie...the important thing is that you read!
Nat...the Read-a-thon will be fun, I look forward to what you read.
Yasmin...maybe next time?
Bermudaonion--I loved it. Review this week if I can fit it in.
