Saturday Christian Fiction Carnival!

Welcome lovers of Christian fiction! I'm so excited to start this new weekly carnival in which we can share our love of the growing, vibrant, and exciting market of Christian fiction. I hope we can all get to know each other better.

Here's how it's going to work:
Each week I'll post a question or a "prompt" You take that question and answer it on your blog. Then, come back here and leave your link in the Mr. Linky below. Then visit everyone else's links and read their answers. So easy!

Please just remember to do two things:
1) Make sure you leave a link to the specific post (permalink) in which you answer the question. That way, we can easily find your answer. I know some of you post multiple times daily and it can be frustrating for someone to try to find your answer if you just link to your general URL.

2) Please link back to THIS specific post in your post so that everyone can navigate easily back and forth to read everyone's answers.

Okay! Here's this week's question:

Why do you read and review Christian fiction? Do you exclusively read Christian fiction or do you also read general market books?

That's it!

Now, I'm not very creative with names and I've named this event Saturday Carnival of Christian Fiction. But I'd love to come up with something with a little more snap. So..email me at mypalamyATgmailDOTcom and give me your best suggestion! I'll choose my favorites and have a poll up next week for everyone to vote on. The person who comes up with the winning name will get a ten dollar gift certificate to Amazon!

See you next week!

Posted and off to visit everyone!

BTW Amy, for a few weeks I've been planning on starting a Blog Carnival called Christian Book Carnival, where rotating blogs host the carnival each week, one bloggers can submit one of their favourite Christian book reviews for that week to the round up. I think it would be fun to have some cross-review reading going on with our readers.

Would you be interested in participating? I need to get a post written up, and sign up at Blog Carnival for it.

Well, as the voted "Best Christian/Inspirational Fiction" blog in the BBAW, how can I have Free Spirit NOT participate? LOL - Another great interractive and fun idea, Amy, you continue to amaze me. (smile) I've already posted for this Saturday, but will jump in and post answers to next week's prompt.

I love to read. If its readable I shall read it. As any one of my middle school kids. I read just about anything. Almost.

Yes, I so love Christian fiction. Its wonderful to see a Christian character grapple with life issues just like everyone. But I want to see them change, grow, learn things and not because someone preached to them. (Please save preaching for church. Thank you kindly) But please do not put in front of me a main character who isnt flawed. We all are flawed. I sure am, ask my children.

I love to read clean secular books too. There is nothing like well developed, layered characaters and a well crafted plot filled with goodly surprised. When I stumble onto great sentences I spend time looking at them. Ususally they are very simple with the most amazing word choices placed just so. Yum. I love it.

I also love middle school books. They are among some of the most well written stories I have ever read.

I am, therefore I read. I write too. Its in my DNA. But that's a whole different story.

Hi Amy. Thought this would be fun. It's too late for me to wrack my brain for a "snap" title. :) I got a bit intense in my reasons for only reading Christian fiction so I better warn people that's what I posted are MY reasons why! :) Thanks so much for doing this and for trying to connect us better. Blessings, Mimi B

:) Ok everyone, through #27, I believe I've visited everyone's sites and left comments on each! Wow - lots of great stuff. . .

I did have trouble on #16 and 23/24 - didn't find the meme post, but did leave a comment on a general post.

I'll check back for any additions later ~ take care everyone ~ Wendi

PS - Amy - thanks for starting this!

Amy and everyone else:

There's a great yahoo! group that is for those who love Christian fiction... it's called Heart Matters

It's about to be shut down to do inactivity, but if we all joined we could talk about CHristian books we love and our reviews! It's led by author Robin Lee Hatcher, and has a bunch of other Christian authors on its member list!

Help me revive the group, please?

Well it looks like Mr Linky is disabled on this one now. Since I am playing catch up and doing all the questions through today (Nov 15) in one post go here to see my answer to this and all the others through Nov 15.
