Dream Travel

Quote of the Day: "Don't tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you have traveled." Muhammad

That quote came straight from my 1000 places to see before you die page a day calendar. I'm not sure what I think about it.

What really sparked this post is that one of the families in my church is going to New York for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade this year. I am insanely jealous. I think it's totally cool that they are doing it, because it's something they've always wanted to do. (Ok, I'm not jealous of the toting six kids around, but whatever) It actually aligns pretty closely to one of my own dream trips, which is Christmastime in New York. I want to see the big tree and go skating at Rockefeller Center. (and then visit a New York hospital at Christmastime to tend to my broken bones!) I want to go to the Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall. I want to get smashed into crowds of people shopping and gazing at all the holiday windows I watch them make every year on HGTV. Christmas in New York is a dream trip for me. I've been to New York twice in the spring and it was fantastic, but I want to go at Christmas.

I have other dream trips. I want to go to Canada or New England in the fall and spend lazy days just driving about looking at gorgeous leaves. I want to go to Las Vegas and see Celine Dion's show. I want to go to the winter festival in Hokkaido, Japan and see the ice sculptures. I want to go to the spa in Evian. I want to go to Carnival in Venice. The list goes on.

What are your dream trips? Have you made any of them?

Been to Canada. Went to Calgary, Banff, and Jasper for our honeymoon. It was beautiful.

Just got back from a lovely trip to Maine. I have one picture up on my blog, and will post a couple of pics of the turning leaves soon. It was gorgeous weather - crystal clear blue skies, not a cloud in sight; cool temperatures, but not too cold; windy without becoming to hard a blow.

I was in Scotland a few years back at this time, and loved it. In the next few months I'm likely to be in Brazil and Norway. Places left on my list would be Australia and Europe (the central part).
