Hello!

Hi everyone how are you?

It's been a trying few weeks--my wordpress blogs, including the BBAW blog, were hacked and that was stressful for someone like myself who knows basically nothing, bless hosted blogs to be honest. I remember how we used to always debate their merit but in this stage of my blogging career, I really like not having to think about much of anything but logging in and posting! Anyway they are cleaned up now though I did something to the BBAW blog when I was trying to fix it myself that I need to figure out how to fix. Oops!

And then my Cardinals made it to the NLCS only to lose in a very embarrassing and awful way in the final three games. Of course that's only sports! But spectator sports can bring a special kind of joy and identification and hope to our lives that I'm sure people much smarter than myself have written books about and baseball is my love, so it was very sad.

The election is also almost here and I'm stressed from it, to be honest. I'm going to be really happy when it's over. It takes over everything. I don't have a lot of hope either way. I've really tried...I read this thing about how the worst people in the country are people like myself who throw up their hands in despair and don't get involved in making change happen, but I think my personality is just not cut out for it. I will vote and I will vote carefully, but I don't yet know how to be a more responsible citizen when it comes to really doing anything. (ugh this is reminding me I need to finish writing my thoughts about The Casual Vacancy!)

So. There's that. I haven't been reading too much lately. I'm reading Anna Karenina which is a huge book and so far really enjoying it. I finished Cloud Atlas which was interesting. Reading these really long books makes it hard to keep up with a book blog, though!

Okay I have a few posts I want to write, but I need some motivation, friends. Could you maybe tell me what you'd be interested in reading? I've been wanting to write about Switched at Birth and art/identity, The Casual Vacancy, a review of the horror film Sinister, and inspired by Jodie's recent post, a post about the biggest thing I'd like "to get the hell out of my media" Any of these interesting? Oh and also a post about Borgen season one and two with a sort of focus on Kasper/Katrine. If any of these is interesting to you, please let me know! Otherwise I have some fun giveaways coming up and I'll get to this other stuff in good time.

I've missed you all and hope you're well! Drop me a note and let me know what's going on with you!

Amy
