"We're very close to the end, Hugo."
Spoilers Follow!
I hope you all loved this episode as much as I did. I really felt like I had never had so much fun watching an episode as I did watching this one with 1799 other crazy LOST fans. I'm glad to say it held up, I loved it all over again tonight.
I can't believe there are only 2 and a half hours of LOST left! What will we do without it?
Let's hit the highlights of this episode, shall we?
First of all, I loved this episode because it was smart and funny and because so many of our beloved characters were in it. I loved it because it was exciting and because it hinted at a very epic series finale to follow...something with a showdown between our LOSTies and the smoke monster and...a concert?
So here are a few highlights:
**Jack stepped up to the plate to be the protector of the island. No really big surprise there, thought Sawyer's comment about his god complex was funny but sad, and Hurley being glad it wasn't him all too honest. Kate's name was crossed off the wall only because she became a mother. (so which Kwon was it? Jin? Because Sun also became a mother)
**Ben went off the rails and joined forces with Smokey. He revealed to Smokey that Widmore and Zoe were hiding in his closet (delivering that line as only Michael Emerson can) and FLocke kills Zoe, gets the information he needs from Widmore, just before Ben shoots Widmore. FLocke later reveals to Ben that Desmond is a fail safe. Oh so interesting.
**Ben in the other world, however, meets a lovely Rousseau who seems to be hitting on him, and it was hard not to feel some sadness in how different these two Bens lives are.
**Desmond is clearly gathering everyone together...threatening Locke again to get him to let go, which was just what Locke needed to believe. Desmond turns himself in for this assault, in order to get to Kate and Sayid and send everyone off in their proper directions. We also got to see Ana Lucia again, but she "wasn't ready" (Huh?)
**I LOVED having Miles back. He provided so much comic relief. "I lived in those houses 30 years before you did. Otherwise known as last week."
**Jacob confirmed what we all believed, he brought the LOSTies because they "needed this place as much as it needed you."
**It appears Smokey got to Richard and killed him.
**FLocke is going to try to destroy the island.
What did you think? Did this episode satisfy you and remind you of everything you love about LOST? Where do you think the finale is headed? What are your plans for the finale?
It's been so much fun to recap LOST each week with you. I'll probably only be able to write a short post following the finale as I'll be in New York with an extremely hectic schedule. Thank you so much for sharing my obsession with me each week, and for loving this crazy show alongside me. Namaste.
