The Weekly Review: Week Ending 10/10

Here are a few posts I enjoyed around the blogopshere this week. Not much this week, as it seems I had limited blog reading time. Sorry!

Kay's latest comic is perfection yet again. Love it! :) If you're a book blogger, click through you'll enjoy, also Molly confesses her addiction.

It seems this poor book will just never go away.

Scribbit shares a list of best villains ever, Jen Robinson reviewed Love, Aubrey making me want the book , Lesa reviewed The Gift of Murder a collection of crime stories whose proceeds benefit Toys for Tots, and Raych reviewed a book by Barbara Vine (an author I'd never heard of) which sounded pretty fantastic as well.

The President won the Nobel Peace Prize. I was honestly really confused when I heard the news. I absolutely loved this post by Shaun Groves on it in which he discussed it's not an injustice and there's a lot of irony in people warring over who should have won a peace prize, and also echo RC's question...what does it mean to award a peace prize?

Enjoy!

When my husband (who gets his news from the broadcasts at the gym when he's working out) came home and said that the president won the Peace Prize, I said, Oh, honey, you must have seen that wrong. Maybe he was commenting on the the winner of the Peace Prize.

But he was right, and I was confused.

And I was said that Updike could not win the Nobel in his final year of eligibility. What a stately, beautiful emissary of books he was.

I don't think too many people are happy about the President winning that. I'm sure he deserves a pat on the back for his good intentions, but still.

I loved Molly's confession. I think she's in good company! And what can you say about Raych. I just sit and read her posts with my mouth hanging open. That girl has so much energy!

I was in Berlin when I heard, and no one would believe me! They all had to see it from a news source themselves.

I was shocked that the president won the peace prize. It took me a day or so to find out. I knew who won for literature and someone from my province won for something else, but I didn't look at the list in detail!
