Some of My Favorite Links of the Week

I removed my shared items from my sidebar in a never-ending quest to keep them looking as clean as possible. So I'm going to try to be better about sharing some of my favorite posts from around the blogosphere every few weeks. These are from everywhere...since I read a lot more than book blogs.

Kat posted another song by Brooke Fraser that doesn't seem to be available for purchase anywhere. It's very beautiful...the kind of song I like to listen to for reflection.

Brant posted about the strange labeling Christian bookstores are giving certain books. (this is actually quite fascinating to me) He also wrote a moving post about the passing of Richard John Neuhaus. Here's an excerpt: "I want to write like him. I won't, though, because I can't. I'm not smart enough. But precious few are. And I'm not sure anyone can read as voluminously as Richard John Neuhaus read. His mind was like a river system, stretching to the far very reaches, gathering energy and soil, and ultimately funneling to a wide, worn, strong central stream of truth."

Randy Elrod posted about why we should still buy art during economically difficult times.

Daniel posts about Truth in Novels...a very interesting post in light of recent memoir scandals.

Beth Kephart writes yet another moving post about finding readers for your story.

Amy Beth at Ministry so Fabulous wrote a fantastic post about practicing what you preach in ministry...one of the best blog posts I've read in a long time.

Dear Author speculates on the whether publishing will innovate or deteriorate. I thought the part about avid readers becoming casual readers was interesting.
