A Soldier's Family by Cheryl Wyatt + Giveaway

Book Synopsis: On A Crash Course With Love

She was the woman of pararescue jumper Manny Péna's dreams. But he'd stuck his foot in his mouth the last time he met Celia Munez. Now, grounded after a parachuting accident, he was desperate to make amends with the beautiful widow. But Celia wasn't having it. The last thing she needed was another man with a dangerous job—even if he had given his life to God. Yet Manny's growing commitment to her and her troubled son began to convince her that perhaps she should take her own leap of faith.

I really enjoyed Cheryl's debut novel, A Soldier's Promise so I was excited to read this book as well. I was delighted to find myself even more captivated by this book!

Celia Munoz lost her husband due to his dangerous career and will do anything to keep her son from meeting the same fate. Manny Pena just recommitted his life to God but is having trouble forgiving himself for the deaths of his son and wife. These two delightful characters share one thing in common...a red hot attraction to each other!

I love that in just a little over two hundred pages, Cheryl develops some characters that we love, and tells an interesting and layered story about their lives. She tackles a bunch of issues in each of their lives and resolves them successfully. If you've ever struggled with fear, regret, or unforgiveness you'll find something for yourself in these pages.

This is a fast read, but don't let the slender size of the novel fool you, it's a great story and I think you'll really enjoy these characters.

And Cheryl has a lovely turn of phrase. One of my favorite lines I've read in a book lately came from this one, "Mercy fell around her like snowflakes." So beautiful. But I love mercy. :)

Author Bio: Cheryl Wyatt's closest friends would never dream the mayhem she plots during announcements at church. An RN-turned-SAHM, joyful chaos rules her home, and she delights in the stealth moments God gives her to write. She's convinced that having been born on a Naval base on Valentine's Day destined her to write military romance. She stays active in her church and in her laundry room. Both of her debut novels (Books 1 and 2 in her Wings of Refuge Series from Steeple Hill) have received Romantic Times Top Picks.

Cheryl has graciously offered to give one of my readers a copy of this novel. You don't want to miss this book! To enter simply leave a comment with a valid email address. I'll draw a winner next Monday. This giveaway is open to everyone, international readers are welcome to enter!

I just finished the first book. If you have not read it you must get it. I can't wait to read this one. I love books that carry on the characters. Being a military brat, I have a deep affection for the military so I love reading about the great heros.
