On Harry Potter, a new job, and churches

It's been awhile since my last post, so I thought I would update.

I've started my job. The program I work for believes it is the solution to reading problems. Perhaps it is, the jury is still out since I have only tutored three full days of sessions. So far I am getting to my co-workers and students and enjoying it very much, despite that fact that our reading lab is the size of the closet. My boss, Maui, is way cool and maybe the best boss I've had yet. She's very supportive and understanding. So I'm enjoying the job, except for the very looonnngg commute.

I read the new Harry Potter book...I love those books. I mean, JK Rowling knows how to tell a story. I cried a bit, and rejoiced a bit, but mostly, I am left looking forward to the seventh book. But then it will be over!!! That will be sad.

and lastly...I visited a lovely African American church in LA today....just when you wonder what in the world is happening to the church in America, you go to a church that is full of just the right amount of enthusiasm, anxious to affect the world for Christ, solid teaching, and wonderful body crushing hugs. I was more edified after that service than I have been in a very long time. On a similar note....you must go and rent two of the best movies I've seen in a long time...Diary of a Mad Black Woman, and Woman Thou Art Loosed. Great flicks. Oh and Bride and Prejudice. That one's a treat too.

Love you guys....hey does anyone even read this thing? Leave me a comment!
