Just One of those Things...

For some reason, this reminds me of those churches that give iPods for attendance.

At least now we know it's not just the Christians that do it. :)

Maybe it's just me, but the library/movie thing doesn't bother me. It's a great way to connect with the community in a large-scale way. I like it when there are outdoor events like this in my neighborhood ... the kids get out of the house and get to hang out with their friends (which doesn't happen much in my neighborhood) ... they don't just sit and watch the movie, they run around and play most of the time.

Feel free to disagree, but I like the library/movie events. :)

We are huge supporters of the library and I love this idea. BUT, my kids don't want to see the movies. They already get the latest from BlockBuster and don't wish to watch it again. :(

Heather,
It's not that I'm opposed to the library showing a movie, in fact the library seems to be one of the few community hubs we have left. It was that they felt they needed to justify it by saying the kids then checked out books. Why not just have a nice community event and let it be what it is?
