Jonathanpaul, I can totally see how that would be. it's not necessarily the happiest music, but I still love it.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02515314638093018928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11303971.post-20348848645870746282008-04-02T07:35:00.000-07:002008-04-02T07:35:00.000-07:00Man, I love Counting Crows. But, I do enjoy it.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04043129436872610166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11303971.post-79841558310474533662008-04-01T23:53:00.000-07:002008-04-01T23:53:00.000-07:00Yeah, I really like Counting Crows too... A good f...Yeah, I really like Counting Crows too... A good friend told me recently that their recent release was great, but I hadn't had a chance to check it out yet. Thanks for sharing! “August and Everything After” is currently in the CD changer in my car, and I've been reading over those lyrics a bit this past week. I'd actually just pulled this album out after a long long rest. I love the Counting Crows, but their music has the ability sometimes to get me in kind of a down state... maybe because I was in a little tumultuous time of life when “August” came out. Anyway, one of the (many) groups of lines that sticks in my memory is from Mr. Jones:

Gray is my favorite color
I felt so symbolic yesterday
If I knew Picasso
I would buy myself a gray guitar and play...

Another would be from Round Here:

Then she looks up at the building
and says she's thinking of jumping
She says she's tired of life;
she must be tired of something...

You know I used to think the lyrics of this song had a line that said “we all talk like liars?” :o)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
