A lot of my giving is to Compassion, but someone mentioned in comments on their blog that with Compassion Sunday being this week, Idol Gives Back might actually help make it more of a success.

I think Carly or Syesha might go tonight. I really hope it's not David C.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02515314638093018928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11303971.post-181054728071247802008-04-10T08:39:00.000-07:002008-04-10T08:39:00.000-07:00Michael - I actually thought this was pretty decen...Michael - I actually thought this was pretty decent, my wife didn't care for it. But yeah, the blues do suit him better.

Syesha - She has now officially become my Ramiel. Yes, she has a fairly strong voice, and can mostly hit the right notes. But I'm just sick of the diva-wannabe, week after week. I have yet to feel any connection between vocalist and song with her. She's just someone with a strong voice, singing a song to show off. Not good.

Jason - Gotta admit I loved this. He knows his style, doesn't try to be something he's not, just flows with it. Easy and carefree, but seems to make a connection with song and audience.

Kristy - She is what she is. Country. I'm not a country fan, but I still think she's fairly decent at this genre. One of her better performances, really.

David C. - I didn't get this at all. Awkward song choice, seemed a little drowned out by background vocals at times. He strayed a little too far from his main strengths with this one.

Carly - Yikes. Simon's right, she almost seemed scary or menacing with this one. She does have a strong voice, but seems to be at a loss with what to do with it lately.

David A. - Still has a strong voice, but was a little off on this one. We wondered if playing piano and singing was a slight distraction for him.

Brooke - Not fantastic, but still very good. She's consistent, you know what you're getting with her. I'm a fan.

Overall, not really a spectacular night. It probably doesn't help that they all had to do so much other stuff, and prep for all the Idol Gives Back performances.

Yes, we watched Idol Gives Back but did a lot of fast-forwarding. It was very long. I think it's great that they do that, you can never have too much help for the poor and hurting people of the world.

Personally (and this is just me, I don't mean to impose this on anyone else) I prefer to continue giving through Compassion International, because while I think it's great to relieve suffering and show focus on the needs of real people, I prefer the holistic approach that heals the spiritual needs as well as the physical. But having said that, I will never criticize human kindness and compassion in any form, and consider everyone to be on the same team when it comes to relieving suffering in the world.Chaotic Hammerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17713799579650424883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11303971.post-49908290343811161242008-04-09T19:36:00.000-07:002008-04-09T19:36:00.000-07:00My fav last night was Jason. Hard to know who bottom three will be - would still like to see Kristy leave - maybe also Carly. I don't know who else. Didn't like David Cook at all tonight (even though he's still one of my favorites). Don't know what that song was about.Sallyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16610616297927283698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11303971.post-51853840673411646422008-04-09T11:05:00.000-07:002008-04-09T11:05:00.000-07:00Lol, it's my reader/writer mind always looking for...Lol, it's my reader/writer mind always looking for significance where there's not meant to be any!

Who do you think will go home?Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02515314638093018928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11303971.post-77746052981162378122008-04-08T23:21:00.000-07:002008-04-08T23:21:00.000-07:00Jason sounded great."I don't think he's one hundre...Jason sounded great.

"I don't think he's one hundred percent sure of why he chose this song...I think he just wants to sing it." I agree totally. Officially hate the haircut, but love the beard. Love the jacket. Didn't see deep meaning in it.

Love the live blogging as always.Meganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05446328800757725901noreply@blogger.com
