I've been an Advocate for Compassion since 1995, and a sponsor since 1988. It really IS a great company, and they're really doing what they say they are! The girl I sponsored since childhood actually got accepted to Compassion's Leadership Development Program two years ago, so I know about this first-hand. Also -- believe it or not -- I was in Kansas City last week and met Abbie and her sweet daughter, who was carrying one of the Compassion Dolls, so I can vouch for the fact that these dolls are truly specia [so is Abbie's daughter]l! Also -- thanks for the challenge to find something "new" on the website to report -- although I've visited the website hundreds of times, I didn't know about the "Share Your Heart" section before [I'm ashamed to admit this!] but will be spending some time reading these special posts. I do want to encourage others to check out this link with Charity Navigator Rating. It's tough to know who to trust these days. Haiti has been severly affected by hurricanes lately, and the children there are in great need. Compassion is helping them by asking for donations for clean water, food, and temporary shelter for the children at their child development centers as well as their families and the staff that works there. It was surprised to read about the leadership developement program. Its really nice to see that. So many people over look that.
