My mother-in-law is always trying to get me to read historical fiction novels, and I have to say I haven't found one that sounds interesting to me. I'd like to give this series a try, based on your review.

I'm typically more of a sci-fi/fantasy reader, so you could say my favorite time period is either in the future or medieval times. ;)
